How to Reach Goa

Goa, being one of the most popular tourist destinations in India, is well-connected by air, rail, and road. Nestled between lush hills and the Arabian Sea, Goa’s beaches and scenic beauty attract tourists from across the world.

By Air

Goa is well connected to major Indian cities with daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. The quickest route is a 1-hour flight from Mumbai.

There are two operational airports:

  • Dabolim Airport (GOI) – 26 km from the conference venue
  • Manohar International Airport (GOX) – 41 km from North Goa

Major airlines like Air Asia, Air India, GoAir, Indigo, Jet Airways, and SpiceJet operate routes from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai. International flights also connect Goa to Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, Moscow, London, and Copenhagen.

Travelers can use prepaid taxis, app-based taxis, shuttle buses, or hotel transport services from both airports. Amenities include currency exchange, ATMs, and travel desks.

By Rail

Goa has two major railway stations:

  • Madgaon (MAO) – ~38 km from Panaji
  • Vasco da Gama (VSG) – ~29 km from Panaji

These are well connected with the rest of India via extensive rail networks. Regular trains run from New Delhi, including Goa Sampark Kranti Express and Trivandrum Express. Taxis are available outside both stations for local transfers.

By Road

Goa is well-connected via road to cities like Mumbai (600 km), Pune (450 km), and Kolhapur (230 km).

If driving from Bengaluru (approx. 560 km), the route follows:

  • National Highway 4
  • State Highway 34
  • National Highway 4A
  • State Highway 7

The drive from Bangalore takes approximately 9 hours.
